The Taking of Pelham 123

This movie is an American film and the story is that the New York City Subway dispatcher negotiated with the criminals who planned to get money for ransom in exchange for the hostage. The criminals were 3 people, and major culprit used to be securities salesman. He was a person of merit in marketing’s world before. But he entered to a jail to commit a crime. It was all-too-common story for a rich-man. Anyway the chief character got involved in an incident by chance. But the chance was fate. Let’s make deep inroads into this story!!

The criminals started to commandeer a train that is Pelham 123 in New York City Subway. Major culprit’ name was “Ryder”. He commandeered the train and he asked New York’ mayor for a lot of money. And he brought up about 10,000,000 dollars. Moreover time limit was 60 minutes and if they were over time, the criminal showed the rule that it spoiled one by one every one minute. I thought that the rule was cruel and inhumane.

“Garber” who is the chief character is a subway dispatcher. He used to be higher than now’s position. Why is his position low now? He became a dispatcher because he had a possibility that he might accept payola. The criminal held the fact as Garber’s weakness, and the criminal threatened it to him. The criminal said “If you does not say about that, I will kill a hostage!” and Garber said “Yes, I accepted payola!” Moreover the criminal said “Why did you accept? And what purpose?” Garber said “For children because I have two children who are 17 years old and 19 years old.” The criminal praised him, saying “he is true hero”. I was impression when I watched this scene.

My favorite scene was that Garber promised to his wife when he had to go to rendezvous of the criminal. His wife said to him “please buy milk after you have finished your work”. I liked this scene. This scene was really heartful and impressed. If I watch this scene again, I will cry!! For something completely different, I was able to learn about battle for hearts and minds, and this movie was so exciting! This movie is one of the most exciting movies in my mind. If you watch this movie, you should be absolutely exciting!! Tomorrow I want to watch again!!
